Day 1 Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou –Ouarzazate- Dades Valley :
Departure from the city of Marrakech to the south of Morocco crossing the High Atlas, where we will stop to take photos of the beautiful Berber settlements lost in the middle of this mountain range. We will cross it through a mountain pass with more than 2,260 m of altitude, being the highest mountain pass in all of Morocco.
Then we will continue to Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Morocco. Visit of the Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a jewel of the region, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It is a fortified town with beautiful crenellated and decorated towers, one of the most beautiful in the Atlas region. We will continue through Ouarzazate, the capital of cinema in Morocco and then along the road of the Thousand Kasbahs passing through the Valley of the Roses, which continues through the Valley of Dades. We will arrive at Boumalne Dades, a Berber town famous for its soaring gorges and its views of the Atlas, now on the horizon. Night in a charming Riad.
Day 2 Dades valley- Todra Gorges – Rissani – Merzouga :
Departure to Tinghir “the mountain city” in Tamazight, another beautiful Berber town where we will delight in the contrast of its palm groves and pink houses. The landscape changes, we are in the Gorges of Todra, formed by rocky walls over 200 m high. We continue south, crossing Erfoud and arriving at Rissani, the desert gate of the Erg Chebbi and with a bustling medina little frequented by tourists, where even nomads can be seen supplying themselves. A donkey parking near the market is striking. 35 km from Rissani is Merzouga, a small town located at the foot of the red dunes of the Sahara desert, known as ‘the jewel of the desert’, for its beautiful landscapes and impressive dunes. We Ride camels with which we will take a pleasant walk through the dunes until we reach the haimas camp located in the heart of the desert, where we will be welcomed with a tea, according to the Sahara tradition. Night in haimas under the desert stars.
Day 3 Merzouga-Erfoud-Midelt-Fes :
We will see the sunrise over the sea of dunes. After breakfast we will go towards the Ziz Valley. We will pass by Erfoud, known for its fossils, located in an immense oasis that follows the channels of the rivers that descend from the Atlas, with beautiful views of the desert. Several sequences from the film The Mummy were filmed in different places around the city. Later we will arrive at Midelt, an important town located in the Middle Atlas where we will have a delicious lunch to gather strength. We will continue the path until we reach the imperial city of Fez, passing through Ifrane, known as mar Moroccan Switzerland ’. Arrival in Fez where we will finish our tour.
